Song Choices

Me and my other team member have managed to narrow our song options down to two songs based upon the set requirements and our own specific preferences. With the criteria in mind we were in search of a well recorded song with clear and comprehensible structure along with coherent and well delivered lyrics. There were endless British unsigned bands and solo acts however many of them failed to meet the requirements wether it being poorly recorded or having sub par production quality or even badly delivered vocals. This was a big hurdle to overcome but yet the most significant issue was trying to find a song we actually enjoyed and wanted to work with, we felt that our final results would be overall better if we were working with material we could artistically appreciate in hope that in would inspire optimum creativity, when coming to shoot our music video. We eventually had to come to accept that it might not be possible to find songs that we enjoyed but however in the end i feel we were both satisfied with the choices we made. f e v e r by Black Bird f e v e r by Black†Bird Black Bird is an unsigned solo artist from Manchester who uses an interesting infusion of Dark Pop,Electronica and Alt RnB. One of the main reasons for choosing him was his superior production quality in comparison to other British Unsigned artist that we came across. His songs including "f e v e r" have a certain clarity to them as they are mixed well. However one could argue that his annunciation is not always clear causing some words to become distorted and lost in the reverberation, at times there can be a notable issue with sibilance as well. Overall we felt that he was a competent vocalist with a good sense of melody enabling him to create songs with clear structure although varied enough so they are not repetitive and remain captivating. Pressure U by tbyalx Tbylax is a British producer there is minimal information on him so we are working under the assumption that he is in fact unsigned. He makes a unique blend of Chillwave, Trip-Hip, Alt RnB with subtle Trap influence. This overall gives his music a very spacey, ethereal and ambient feel one of his key strengths is being able to pull all of these influences and many more together in very slick and clean production. He often features singers and rappers to help give shape to some of his instrumentals in this particular song "Pressure u" it features a female vocalist by the name of missLAGUEX from Portsmouth who has a gentle voice that compliments the instrumental perfectly. One of the only notable issues that come to mind when thinking about this artist is the general lack of clear background information.
